MONEYMATIX shortlisted for TWO Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards

I am delighted to announce that MoneyMatiX has been shortlisted for two Awards in the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards 2024.

After the judging panel reviewed and evaluated an unprecedented number of entries, MoneyMatix has been shortlisted in both the "Purpose-Led Business of the Year Award" and "Resilient Business of the Year" categories.

The ‘Purpose-Led Business Award’, sponsored by Muckle Media, is for a women-led business which was able to demonstrate that it stands for something it believes in, going beyond profit and positively impacting society.  MoneyMatiX successfully showed that our business model has a true purpose by representing and acting on something greater than just its products and services.

The ‘Resilient Business of the Year’ award recognises a woman-led business that has successfully navigated significant challenges, demonstrating resilience and continuity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing cost-of-business crisis. MoneyMatiX exemplifies this resilience, having adapted its business model multiple times—first in response to COVID-19, and later due to the pervasive racism and systemic barriers it encountered while advocating for financial inclusion. Despite these challenges, MoneyMatiX has persistently highlighted the need for financial institutions to engage with marginalised and vulnerable communities.

The financial exclusion of People of Colour is a stain on our society and a massive economic blunder. Winning this Award would be a real honour and will help us put a spotlight on the issue and allow MoneyMatiX to attract more commercial partners to join us in developing our levelling up programme.

Carolyn Currie, Chief Executive at Women’s Enterprise Scotland, said of the entries this year; “Our Awards recognise the considerable contribution women-led businesses make to Scotland’s economy. It is our opportunity to come together and celebrate success, as well as to provide visible role models for the women and girls who follow.

Both the volume and the calibre of entries for the Awards were very high and the judging panel had a very challenging task to compile the list of finalists. We are now looking forward to a fantastic Awards evening in October, when we will shine a spotlight on the diverse range of women led businesses which are starting up and thriving across Scotland.”

Winners of the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards, which is being supported by HFL Holistic Financial Leadership, Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise, N4 Partners LLP, The University of Glasgow, Muckle Media and QuickBlock, will be announced at a glittering ceremony which takes place at the voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 3 October.  Tickets for the event can be purchased HERE

The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Sheila Flavell CBE, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Board Director at FDM Group.

Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) was established in 2011 as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) working to close the gender gap in enterprise participation.  The awards are part of their work we do to close the gender gap in enterprise participation.
